Abstract

Isabell Große acts as programme coordinator for the extra-occupational training of teachers and career changers (wAL Englisch). She is also a lecturer for literary and cultural studies at the ZLS Leipzig. She studied English, German and Educational Studies at Leipzig University and at the  University of Wales, Bangor.


From October 2021 onward, she and her colleagues at the ZLS will carry on Simon Weise's project "Lit4School" - a database for authentic literature and media for the EFL classroom. Read more on: https://home.uni-leipzig.de/lit4school/


Besides instructing teachers and career changers, her research interests centre on anglophone crime fiction, postmodernist literary and cultural theories as well as metafiction, intertextuality and pastiche in contemporary literature.

In her PhD thesis, "Pastiche and Metafiction in Contemporary British Detective Fiction", Isabell Große investigates the implementation of poststructuralist philosophy in contemporary crime fiction.

Isabell Große teaches seminars in British cultural studies and literary studies. She primarily works as an instructor for the extra-occupational training of teachers at the ZLS Leipzig.
