The students…

  • know the specifics of their future field of activity school.
  • know procedures for exploring the school and apply them to the description and analysis of the internship school.
  • know procedures of lesson observation and apply them for the description and analysis of lessons from a general didactical point of view.
  • prepare, conduct and reflect on teaching sequences from a general didactic point of view and under the guidance of school mentors.
  • know stresses and strains in the profession of teachers and strategies for coping with them.
  • analyse tasks of teachers in everyday school life and reflect on their change from the role of pupils to the role of teachers and their career choice decision.

The module introduces school as a field of practice and study (project seminar).

The module is offered every semester.

  • Seminar „School as a field of practice and study“ (2 SWS) = 30 h attendance time and 15 h self-study = 45 h
  • Practical school studies „SPS“ (5 SWS) = 75 h attendance time and 30 h self-study = 105 h

The module examination consists of an ungraded portfolio with a processing time of 4 weeks.

Notes

  • In the module „Practical and Study Field School“, you first complete the preparatory seminar and then the first educational science block internship (SPS I). You register for the module in the regular way; in addition, you have to register in the internship portal at the beginning of the semester. You will find all information about the contents and the examination in the seminar in the Moodle course – you will receive the link to it from your lecturer after registration.
