What is our research about?

We want to make teaching and learning processes visible in the school context and gain insights for the practice and training of teachers. At the same time, we work together with other researchers from Germany and abroad on the further development of methods and theories of empirical school and classroom research.

An overview of the current research projects and the publications of our department can be found here.

What is our mobile laboratory „m3uvi“?

The name m3uvi stands for mobile, multi-modal classroom videography.

The m3uvi-Lab allows us to go to schools and observe and document „real“ lessons on site.

In particular, we investigate how teachers and learners interact with each other in class, what teachers focus their attention on and what inexperienced teachers can learn from experienced teachers.

To do this, we use eye-tracking methods and automated analyses of audio and video data.
